Luke Bryan is revisiting some of the songs that helped define his country music career, sharing personal memories about their beginnings and lasting significance.
In a new Chart History video released November 5, the country star reflects on several major hits, including his first Country Airplay No. 1, 2010’s Rain Is a Good Thing.
Bryan recalls filming the song’s music video near his former college town during an early Farm Tour performance. He also explains how he and songwriter Dallas Davidson developed the track around a familiar saying from their childhood in South Georgia.
Another important moment came with Drink a Beer, which reached No. 1 in 2014. Bryan says the emotional song allowed him to show a different side of his artistry after becoming known for energetic party anthems.
Written by Chris Stapleton and Jim Beavers, the track also gave Bryan an opportunity to share the stage with Stapleton at the 2013 CMA Awards.
Bryan additionally revisits fan favorites including Play It Again, Country Girl (Shake It for Me), Waves, I See You, and Most People Are Good.
